The Cultural Wellness Center is hosting a two-day African American celebration of Kwanzaa on Monday, Dec. 26, and Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at the Midtown Global Market. The celebrations include a variety of performances including singing, dancing, storytelling, and more. Each day will be hosted by Elder Atum Azzahir- Emcee, Brother T. Mychael Rambo- Cultural Ceremonialist and Vocalist and Brother Robert Taylor- Food Artist/Culinary Heritage Specialist Brother Robert Taylor.
Both days’ events activities are free of charge
Second day of Kwanzaa - Tuesday, December 27
Noon – 1:30 p.m. The theme is "Kujichagulia" Self Determination
Elder acknowledgment, age stage gifting and more delicious food.
1:30 – 4 p.m. Vocals performed by Brother Gevonee Ford and piano & vocalist Brother Will Wesley.
Children’s book reading by Sister Jamie Carter, Sankofa Children’s Book Reader.
