Cassandra Johnson is a local singer/songwriter and self taught guitarist. Before learning the guitar, Cassandra studied vocal technique, music theory, and jazz theory. During lockdown, she decided to fill the new found free time by teaching herself guitar. The guitar gave her a deeper connection to music and expression. She began to post weekly updates of her journey on Instagram to track her progress. This weekly challenge, coined "Friday Riffday", gained traction and is now a virtual community of musicians from around the world.

As of late, Cassandra has shifted her focus from lyrical/folk songwriting to guitar chord melodies. Her writing is rich with thoughtful melodies and compelling harmony. She is influenced by indie folk, indie rock, and jazz. Cassandra teaches private music lessons at Blue Tree Music Education.  She is also a member of a new project called "Real Late Nites"; a group that blends lofi, jazz, and instrumental hip hop.
